Sometimes something happens that you, as an artist, can only dream of.
Recently, I was approached by a member of the international organization **Ars et Mathesis**, a worldwide network in which artists, mathematicians, and scientists explore the connection between art and mathematics. He has taken the initiative to compile a book entirely dedicated to my constructivist painting.
That news touched me deeply. For many years, I have worked from the conviction that geometry is much more than a collection of lines, planes, and calculations. To me, it is a universal visual language through which space, light, rhythm, and movement can become visible. It is from this perspective that I develop my paintings: compositions in which order and freedom meet and in which the viewer can continually make new spatial discoveries.
The fact that an international organization like Ars et Mathesis is showing interest in my work is, in my view, a special recognition. Not only for my paintings, but also for the artistic quest that underlies them. My work draws inspiration from the ideas of the Constructivists and the artists of De Stijl, yet simultaneously seeks a contemporary, personal visual language that resonates with the world of today.
The book will not only contain images of my paintings but will also delve into the underlying ideas, the relationship between art and geometry, and the development of my oeuvre. I hope it will be a publication that demonstrates how art and mathematics do not limit each other, but can instead inspire and reinforce one another.
To me, this feels like a new step in a long artistic journey. A journey that once began in my studio, with a blank canvas and a simple pencil, and which is now unexpectedly continuing internationally.
I am particularly grateful to the initiator for the trust and appreciation expressed in this project. It is a privilege to be able to share my work with an international audience in this way.
As soon as more is known about the progress, the publication date, and the presentation of the book, I will be happy to keep you informed via this website.
